Annual Sports Day 'ALTIUS - 2022'

If there is one field of life which teaches us the most valuable lessons about perseverance, self- confidence, winning spirit, patience, in fact what constitutes a perfect character, it is sports.

Annual Sports Day 'ALTIUS-2022' was organised with great enthusiasm in Meerut Public School, Ved Vyas Puri on Friday, 23 December 2022.

The School’s playground was overflowing with zeal, passion and excitement. The programme began with the arrival of the Chief Guest Mr. P. K Shrivastava, Honorary Secretary, U.P. Athletics Association and a Joint Secretary in U.P. Olympics Association dignified guest of the day Ms. Sutapa Goswami, an International Yoga Medalist, National Gymnast Medalist, Certified Yoga & Power Yoga Trainer and an Online World Yoga Cup 2020 Gold Medalist, an amiable personality Mr. Shinoj Muliyil , Splendid Managing Director ma’am Ms Ketiki Singh Shastri.

The event started with the floral welcome of the guest by the resplendent Director Ma'am and Principal Sir followed by the lightening of the torch, oath taking ceremony by all the participants and the balloon release.

The students displayed a wide array of energetic and bouncy sports events ranging from Yoga, Zumba, fun races like Bug Bunny Race, Architecture Race, Smurf Race, Caterpillar Race, Airport Race, Three - legged Race, Clap Drill, Hoola Hoop drill, track events and karate.

They mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. The proud parents could be seen filled with happiness to see their children performing in a spectacular way.

Director Ma’am Ms. Ketiki Singh Shastri and the honourable Principal Mr Rajeev Goel raised the morale of the students.

The Chief Guest awarded the medals and the certificates to the winners of the various sports events and addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of sports in a child’s life.

Kalam House bagged the first position and thus stood as the Winning House of the Year, Vivekanand House bagged the second position. Deepanshu Tomar was adjudged as the Best Sports Person.

The vote of Thanks was proposed by the senior coordinator Ms. Jagandeep Kaur. To make people realize the power of sentiments, even with no words or sounds attached to it, a team of students presented the national anthem through signs and symbols.

The Sports Event was a marvellous one and won the appreciation of the guests as well as of the parents.
